All praise belongs to the Supreme Lord of the Worlds. Ikrah Bismi Rabbikaallaji khalakh . “Read in the name of your ALLAH who created”

Dear Esteemed Readers,

All praise be to the Almighty ALLAH. Among those who stood by the impoverished and destitute families, planting the seed of social service and instilling a deep commitment to it, the late Alhaz Dr. Abdul Hamid stands as an exemplary figure. He captivated hearts and minds with the mantra of service to humanity, steering us toward a noble cause. Alhaz Dr. Abdul Hamid worked tirelessly to uplift the poor and helpless, providing light in the educational darkness of the Sundarbans' remote areas—reaching out to the sick, the destitute, and even those with disabilities.

In 1987, with the assistance of some dignitaries, Dr. Abdul Hamid laid the foundation of Sarberia Orphanage in the village of Sarberia under Nazat Police Station, North 24 Parganas, to offer support to a handful of orphaned children. This institution, located in a remote part of the Sundarbans, became a beacon of hope for the local people. Around this orphanage, several high-quality residential educational institutions were subsequently established: Sarberia An-Noor Mission (Boys and Girls), Sarberia Shishu Bikash Academy, Sarberia Mujaddedia MSK, Sarberia Orphanage Cottage Home (Boys and Girls), and Kamakhyapur Mujaddedia MSK (South 24 Parganas). These institutions now nurture and educate around 1,500 children, including approximately 600 orphans and underprivileged, meritorious students.

Among those who offered their prayers and support in establishing this orphanage, notable figures include the late Mezla Huzur Pir Qibla of Furfura Sharif, the former president of the organization, the late Pirzada Saifuddin Siddiqui, and many other distinguished personalities.

We also received valuable assistance from visionary individuals such as Alhaz Mustaq Hossain, the head of Pataka Industries, a philanthropist and pioneer of the Muslim education movement in West Bengal and eastern India. His generous patronage, along with the contributions of other noble figures, has been instrumental in this cause. Another guiding figure is the former IAS officer and social reformer, the revered Alhaz Sk. Nurul Haque. These individuals have played a pivotal role in nurturing the talents of academically gifted children from poor families, inspiring them to pursue brighter futures.

I am profoundly grateful to the founder of the mission, the late Alhaz Dr. Abdul Hamid, whose relentless efforts, dedication, and sacrifice have transformed this mission into a towering institution. We continue to walk the path he paved, supported by a highly capable managing committee, dedicated trustees, and a team of experienced and committed teachers. Numerous donors, public representatives, administrative officials, students, parents, well-wishers, and officers from the Minority Development and Finance Corporation have also played significant roles in the mission’s development, alongside various government and non-government representatives.

Having been involved with the institution's activities for over 22 years, I have witnessed first hand the extraordinary contributions of these compassionate individuals. I consider it an honour to have been able to serve in this noble cause, in the company of these great souls. Together with hundreds of orphaned and underprivileged children, I pray to Almighty Allah for their well-being and success. In the days ahead, I seek the continued support and goodwill of everyone to ensure the longevity and further progress of these institutions, so they may create a lasting impact not only in Bengal but across India.
